My 28th birthday is coming up soon, so I compiled a list of 27 things I learned this year. I knew my 27th year was going to be special, not only because it was my golden birthday (27 on the 27th) but my relationship with Christ grew an enormous amount this year, so I did my best to soak in all the wonderful things He taught me this year alone. These are lessons I will forever cherish, and take with me on to my next season of life. I now want to pass them on to you, and hopefully they encourage you the way they encouraged me throughout the year.
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1
Go straight to the Word when you are feeling attacked. Don’t hesitate or delay, it’s the only way to come against those negative thoughts.
You glow different when you truly surrender your life, even other people will start to notice something different about you.
You don’t need to be an expert or qualified, just available.
Be so strategic on what you listen to and watch; leave no room for the enemy to creep in.
Be more in love with God than anyone else.
Be so grateful and content, that if the Lord never did anything else, you’d be okay.
Let go of your identity in the things of this world. If you lose this world but gain God, it’s a win win!
Trust God’s plan, if you didn’t get all the opportunities you wanted then it’s probably better that way.
Sometimes when you pray its not about what you get, but what you give up.
If you stop and argue with everything God tells you to do, then it’s only going to hurt you.
An increase in your capacity relies on how far you believe and WHO you place you trust in.
Just because you haven’t seen a harvest yet, doesn’t mean it’s not there.
Lean on God to not get overwhelmed, what He has is bigger than you can carry on your own, and He gives you the strength you need.
You have all the tools you need, and you don’t need to know everything before you go, just GO.
Your insecurities are invalid in the presence of God.
Sometimes the silence in the walk before all the walls come down is what gives you power.
God’s not worried, so why are you. He knows what you need.
Sometimes it’s better to show someone the Spirit than talk about it.
It’s time to stop dwelling on the past and to start letting it help you.
Be confident in His identity not your own, or what you think it is. You must know who you are in Him, and that you are blessed because of Him. He gets all the glory.
You’re insecure because you haven’t solidified who you are in Christ yet.
Our level of strength changes as we mature and as seasons change.
Who you were last season will be different than who you will need to be for this season. Let God show you how you need to show up for each season.
God will continue to prune and change you as you get closer to Him and you will become less and less of the person you once were. Embrace the change.
You are not defined by your bank account.
Everyday you have to wash yourself with the Word, God is patient with you, be patient with Him and yourself.
God was intentional with you, so be intentional with Him. His wisdom cannot be gained without work.
